Vice - Specialized Stumpjumper Evo Elite Alloy
Vice is my favorite bike. I had been looking for a new full suspension bike for a while and wasn't feeling ready to commit until I test rode this very bike at a local shop. I bought it that day. I was taken by how stable and in-the-bike I felt. And that control and confidence has translated to my riding, thankfully. My first rides on this bike saw me clearing bigger gaps and riding steeper nastier descents than I otherwise would have tried.

Some favorite memories with this bike definitely include riding it around on the streets of San Francisco, exploring, carrying flowers, or between bars with new friends. Let's go for a ride!
Pickles and Cream - All-City Cosmic Stallion
I bought this lovely bike from an air traffic controller. I bought it for it's hydraulic brakes, which I knew I needed for wheelies and other maneuvers on the streets of seattle. This bike has been great for singletrack, bikepacking, group rides, getting croceries, trips to the hospital... Oh! And it's called Pickles 'N' Cream for it's lovely green and white paint.
Build Specs
- Frame: All-City Cosmic Stallion 61 cm
- Groupset: Shimano GRX 810
- Wheels: WTB ST Light i23 28h
- Tires: Bontrager GR2 Team Issue 40mm
- Tire Pressures: 35psi front, 38psi rear (tubeless)
This bike was excellent on a 2 day, 3 ferry winter trip. Riding two 50 mile days in a row in 40 degrees was a really gorgeous time.
Divine Hammer - Commencal Meta HT AM
When I lived in Milwaukee and rode all through the winter, a 27.5x2.8 tire, single speed hardtail sounded fun, simple, and bulletproof. I'm glad I got to try that experiment, and I'm glad I wasn't disappointed by my second bike from Commencal. This bike cleaned up on all of my favorites in Wisconsin, and help up very very well on black diamond tech trails in the PNW, though not without considerable hand fatigue. I still have this bike because it's too fun to let go.

Single Speed Conversion
Single speed conversion from Surly
I don't at all regret taking the time to set this up single speed for a while. It was super super fun and unique, and this is still the only bike I've done a barspin on!
Custom Decals
OEM Style decals with custom color to match my art on the stem top cap
I had these decals custom printed to match my top cap, which is printed with some of my algorithmic art from 2020.

D0M3571QU3 73RR0R1S7 - 1999 Specialized Rockhopper
I've wanted to build a vintage hardtail into an X-Bike since college, but I never seemed to find a frame big enough to fit me. This fall I found a 21 inch 1999 rockhopper A1 FS Comp in excellent near stock condition, and after riding it a few times, replaced the frame with a 22.5, and replaced most everything else too.
Components
- Frame: 1999 Specialized Rockhopper, 22.5 inches, A1 6061 Aluminum - No cracks!!
- Tires: Simworks Super Yummy 26 x 2.22
- Dropper Post: PNW Cascade dropper, externally routed, clocked 180 degrees for cleaner cabling along the seat tube
- Stem: Chromag 35mm
- Drivetrain: GX 12 speed
- Fork: Surly Troll
Heinrich - Schindelhauer Viktor
Brakeless aluminum track bike found at the bikeworks warehouse sale for only twenty dollars - frame, front chainring, belt, etc, everything but bars, saddle, and wheelset - A steal! I finished the build in one day and have been crashing happily ever since.
Features
- Frame: Schindelhauer Viktor 59 cm
- Drivetrain: Gates CDX Belt drive, 60t chainring
Bike Projects
I love to design, I love to build. The projects shown here are all my own designs with the exception of a folding ramp built from online instructions.
I also do all of my own mechanic work on my bikes, excepting damper service on my suspension. I'm hoping to join in for more volunteer trail building with local organizations in the PNW.
Juno - Minivan Stealth Car Camper
Juno is my micro-budget stealth minivan camper conversion. Years of fantasizing about campervan trips coincided with my owning a nearly 20 year old minivan which resulted in this build.
Bed Platform CAD Model
I only decided to make a CAD model after a wasted evening building the structure from sketches on cardboard boxes
Bed Platform CAD Model from Below
The supports for the platform shown from below - The supports offered peace of mind about stability while allowing maximum space for storage beneath
Platform Fit Test
As designed, the bed platform takes up one half of the rear of the vehicle, leaving the other half clear for seats or cargo
Trip underway
The setup survived a month long trip from Seattle to San Diego and Back, with plenty of detours and about 4000 miles traveled
Skateboarding
I'm not exceptionally capable on a skateboard, but I deeply love the completeness of learning a new trick, and the feeling of the board rumbling, snapping, and landing under my feet. I also deeply appreciate the artistry and the community of skateboarding, and am proud to participate in both.

Freestanding Bike Rack
I designed and built this bike rack for my friends apartment so that she would stop stacking her bikes on top of each other!
Cooking and Baking
I don't cook quite as much as I used to, but ask me for a smoothie, a matcha latte, or some mac and cheese and you're not likely to be disappointed.
Matcha WebPage
When I learned how to make a good matcha latte at home things really changed for me. Since then I've experimented a lot and I'm proud to show off some of that story. This site also served as a great project to brush up on web dev and self hosting. Check it out!
Cozy Woodsy Apartment
When I moved into a space all my own for the first time I decided that making it restful and cozy was a top priority. Having fallen in love with the lush deep greens of the PNW right away, I knew bringing them into my home would bring the restful energy I was after. The canopy was also something I couldn't stop thinking about, and it adds a feeling of shelter that I really appreciate.
